Responsible Pet Ownership by SPCA (Selangor, Malaysia)

Responsible pet ownership or ‘RPO’ is one of the major changes that the SPCA would like to bring about in Malaysia. While the SPCA can provide neutering clinics, rehome animals and campaign for changes in the law, without Malaysian citizens taking more responsibility for the welfare of their pets little progress can be made.

Domestic animals rely on us for their wellbeing. Unlike wild animals, domesticated cats and dogs cannot successfully provide enough food, water and medical treatment for themselves to stay fit and healthy.

The key responsibilities an owner should show towards their pet are:
1)Provide adequate food, shelter, medicine and living space for your pet.
2)Spay or neuter your pet.
3)Use a leash when your pet dog is out of the compound.
4)Provide a loving environment for your pet.
5)Be considerate to your neighbours.

Remarks :
This article is taken from SPCA (http://www.spca.org.my); a voluntary Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, located in state of Selangor (Malaysia).

SPCA Selangor is an animal protection centre and animal welfare. They have more than 300 cats and dogs in their place. They are open to public everyday (including Saturday, Sunday and public holiday) from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Call (03) 4256-5312 for details. The animals here is open for adoption.

HOBBY NO. 8 : PETS

I think most of us like adorable animal as their friends or we prefer call as pets. There is variety of pets as below:-
1) Fish
2) Bird
3) Cat
4) Dog
5) Iguana
6) Snake
7) Rabbit
8) Hamster / rat
9) Chicken
10) Turtle / Tortoise
11) Others

Pets as per our normal perseption is tame animals such as cat or dog; but there is a group of people have wild animal such as crocodile, snake or even tiger as their pets.

In Malaysia; some endanged species of bird require a license to keep as a pets.

To have a pet is easy, just buy from shop. But, to keep the pets live and healhty is difficult. We must take care of their food, vitamins, safety, and others aspect every time. If you just abandone your pet, some department or society will chase after you. In some serious case, the pets owner is charged in court.

Between me and my boss

When I Take a long time to finish,
I am slow,
When my boss takes a long time,
he is thorough

When I don't do it,
I am lazy,
When my boss does not do it,
he is busy,

When I do something without being told,
I am trying to be smart,
When my boss does the same,
he takes the initiative,

When I please my boss,
I am apple polishing,
When my boss pleases his boss,
he is cooperating,

When I make a mistake,
you're an idiot.
When my boss makes a mistake,
he's only human.

When I am out of the office,
I am wandering around.
When my boss is out of the office,
he's on business.

When I am on a day off sick,
I am always sick.
When my boss is a day off sick,
he must be very ill.

When I apply for leave,
I must be going for an interview
When my boss applies for leave,
it's because he's overworked

When I do good,
my boss never remembers,
When I do wrong,
he never forgets

You and Your Boss

When you take a long time, you're slow.
When your boss takes a long time, he's thorough.

When you don't do it, you're lazy.
When your boss doesn't do it, he's too busy.

When you make a mistake, you're an idiot.
When your boss makes a mistake, he's only human.

When doing something without being told, you're overstepping your
authority.
When your boss does the same thing, that's initiative.

When you take a stand, you're being bull-headed.
When your boss does it, he's being firm.

When you overlooked a rule of etiquette, you're being rude.
When your boss skips a few rules, he's being original.

When you please your boss, you're apple polishing.
When your boss pleases his boss, he's being co-operative.

When you're out of the office, you're wandering around.
When your boss is out of the office, he's on business.

When you're on a day off sick, you're always sick.
When your boss is a day off sick, he must be very ill.

When you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview.
When your boss applies for leave, it's because he's overworked.

GREAT PERSON : RONALD REAGAN

“In his lifetime, Ronald Reagan was such a cheerful and invigorating presence that it was easy to forget what daunting historic tasks he set himself. He sought to mend America's wounded spirit, to restore the strength of the free world and to free the slaves of Communism.” That's how Lady Thatcher started her great eulogy of Ronald Reagan, summarizing in one sentence his personal qualities and his great achievements. This combination of highly admirable personality and great accomplishments has made Ronald Reagan the most popular American President in the past half a century and one of the most important American Presidents in history. So what were the leadership qualities that made it possible for Ronald Reagan to achieve such a status in American history and in the hearts of the American people, including his political opponents?

We even have a pit stop in some farm just to check their price before compare with others vegetables / fruits seller at Kuala Terla and Brinchang. Overall, its cheap to buy direct from the farmer.

TRIP TO CAMERON HIGHLAND - PART 1

I just came back from a trip to Cameron Highland, Pahang after 3 days 2 nights (16/2/08 - 18/02/08) trip there with my family. As this trip is a lot of wonderful experience and interesting places, I will write the full story in few part. This first part is to introduce the resort/hotel.

In Cameron Highland (CH), we stay at Cameron Highland Country Lodge Resort which located in Brinchang, Cameron Highland. This is a very strategic location in CH as its located in Brinchang Town.

The resort is just a walking distance from police station, town, night stall, banks, post office, internet cafe, restaurants and other facilities. Petrol station (Petronas & Shell) also less than a minute driving from this resort.

Overall, the resort is excellence. The area is nice, and good view from our balcony. The most important, the provide hot shower (Its really cold here....). But I wonder how can this resort not providing fridge in the room. How can we storage our strawberry and vegetable without fridge? This is the first time I'm staying in the hotel/resort without fridge. Even the weather and environtment there is cold, not meant we can just put our strawberry, fruits and vegetables anywhere in our hotel room.

ADVICE FROM STAMPS EXPERT - MR. SHAHID FROM INDIA

I just read email from Mr. Shahid; my friend from India which expert on stamps.

This is his advice to me as I still new in collecting stamps. I would like to share with all stamps lover.

"Thanks for the message and as you are a new collector i just wanted to guide you a bit... collecting stamps is fun, interesting and informative too.

First you need to decide at which level you want to collect stamps and how much time you are keen to devote..

Begin with a theme that suits you best.. like me, my subject is Islamic heritage and architecture and so i love collecting stamps that shows buildings like mosques, tombs, minars and then stamps on calligrahy, Haj, Quranic reading, Hejira, etc..

then you need to decide whether you love to collect mints or used... i collect mints as they are clear and easily visible... but everyone has his own likings... when you buy any stamps you may like to have more information on it and so you can alwasy buy information brochure which comes very cheap but is a wealth of info on the history of stamps..... all this for a serious collector like me...

Then you think of arranging your stamps, keeping, exchanging and so on.....

so think of your theme first and grow with that"
