PET CENTURY OSTRICH PARK, KLANG (SELANGOR, MALAYSIA)

Our visit to Pet Century Ostrich Park in Klang, Selangor (Malaysia)is very meaningful for us as this is our first visit to zoo with our son, Luqman Hakim.

This park claimed themself as the biggest petting zoo in Malaysia (at that time). Even the location is quite isolated and near housing area, the park is attracting visitors as it is a very friendly zoo. That time entrance fee to enter this park is RM20.00 per person (Corrected me if I'm wrong).

Even the name of this park is Ostrich Park; they also have another animals such as crocodiles, snakes, birds, fish's, monkeys, rabbits, horses, giant tortoises, raccoon, and of course ostrich.

My son enjoying this trip very much as he can feeding the rabbits, and touch the very tame raccoon. For me, I took the change to take photo with eagle and other animals. I also have very nice experience riding an blindfull ostrich with fee of RM1.00.

For inquiries, please call 603-51615060. The park’s address is Lot 4389, Jalan Sellathevan, Off Jalan Kampung Jawa Batu 4, Klang, Selangor.

ULU YAM DAM, HULU LANGAT (SELANGOR MALAYSIA)

Since I have nothing to do on Sunday (March 09, 2008) due to heavy rain, I spent my time indoor; read newspaper of Malaysian General election result and analysis, watching AXN, play games with my son, and re-arrange photos in our albums.

Then I realized that its good if I can share my previous journey or others activities related to hobbies in my blog. I take out the photos, scan and then store the photos in my laptop. Now I realized how important to bring camera anywhere. Even I'm not good in photography, I will make sure I will captured my activities as a memory to remember. Now, I'm prefer my kids or my wife as subject. Even our trip to Cameron Highland last February I captured more than 200 photos, there is only less than 10 photos is my photos.

I love to travel and spent my time outside rather than indoor. Since I already married and have kids, I would spare my time outside with them, except if I go for fishing with other friends. I prefer going to sea, river and jungle because I think its interesting. Until now, I have travelled around Malaysia (including Sabah and Sarawak). Oversea? I only managed to reach Thailand (Ish..ishh... poor me).

OK let start with my experience in Ulu Yam Dam in Hulu Langat (Selangor, Malaysia). During my bachelor's time, I used to come here at least 3 times per year. It is a very ideal place to hideaway from my routine which I can consider quite stressful.

This Ulu Yam Dam actually is reserved area for water supply and electric generator. Its suitable for camping, fishing, picnic and other activities. Normally, we just go there for camping, fishing and barbeque.

FISHING SPOT : LAGUNA PARK

During our trip to Pulau Indah on 02nd March, 2008; we also visit Laguna Park. Laguna Park is well planned housing area which located next to the sea. This housing area have its own attraction - Fishing spot.

I personnaly have fishing here several time, and I think its worth to try. Even, our previous visit not gain any big-big fish; I still can smile as I can bring all my family here to accompany me. In others fishing spot that I went before, I never bring my family as its not suitable for them; some place is too crowded, too dangerous or other factors. Here, the fishing spot is near to the children playground, restaurant, toilets, bathroom, and mosque.

Responsible Pet Ownership by SPCA (Selangor, Malaysia)

Responsible pet ownership or ‘RPO’ is one of the major changes that the SPCA would like to bring about in Malaysia. While the SPCA can provide neutering clinics, rehome animals and campaign for changes in the law, without Malaysian citizens taking more responsibility for the welfare of their pets little progress can be made.

Domestic animals rely on us for their wellbeing. Unlike wild animals, domesticated cats and dogs cannot successfully provide enough food, water and medical treatment for themselves to stay fit and healthy.

The key responsibilities an owner should show towards their pet are:
1)Provide adequate food, shelter, medicine and living space for your pet.
2)Spay or neuter your pet.
3)Use a leash when your pet dog is out of the compound.
4)Provide a loving environment for your pet.
5)Be considerate to your neighbours.

Remarks :
This article is taken from SPCA (http://www.spca.org.my); a voluntary Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, located in state of Selangor (Malaysia).

SPCA Selangor is an animal protection centre and animal welfare. They have more than 300 cats and dogs in their place. They are open to public everyday (including Saturday, Sunday and public holiday) from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Call (03) 4256-5312 for details. The animals here is open for adoption.

I don't want to tell you about my birthday in details here; I actually impressed when I see the decoration and antique items here is amazing. You can find a lot of antique here such as gassoline lamp, postman's bicycle, old type writter, and natural rubber machine (I also don't know the real name)but its used to fabricate natural latex into pieces before dried its and sell. I also can see a lot of old painting which related to satay seller. I was told by their worker, all their brances around Malaysia were decorate with antique items as an attraction and to keep our nation heritage.

MY VISIT TO COLLEX 2008 @ 20/01/08

Photo : my son (Luqman Hakim) was posing in front of Collex 2008 stalls.

Collex 2008 @ The Atria, Damansara, Malaysia.

On 20/01/2008 (Sunday), I bring my wife, son (Luqman Hakim, 3 yrs) & daughter (Norsyafiqah Izzati, 1 yr) to this exhibition. Its about 45 minutes driving from my house.

As overall I think its success. If i'm not mistaken, there is only less than 20 stalls / seller participate in this collex 2008. But its not a big deal for me as long as there is a very genuine and quality seller.

Photo : Some of the participants / seller during Collex 2008

Variety of stamps, coins & banks notes, books to be choose and its make me confused to choose. At worth to come here as you can bargain the price. You can even buy in bulk in very very unpredictable price. At last, 4 coins be mine for very cheap price.

To organizer; well done. Hopefully next time you will give more space to your traders and spare nice place for collectors to meet.
